On Our Farm

Livestock

We have a variety of livestock on our small farm including goats, chickens and ducks! We have a few different kinds of goats too including registered ADGA dairy goats.

Produce

Each year that we grow food for us and our surrounding community we learn what grows best, what people want most, and what plants just don’t work in our climate/environment.

Farm Products

We have a farm store on our property where you can purchase some of our farm products including raw goat’s milk, free range eggs, raw unfiltered honey and fresh produce too!

Our Livestock

Goats

Our goat herd started with three Boer goats from a family friend late 2020. It didn’t take long for us to fall in love with goats and grow our herd to over 20 goats! We have a mixed herd now of Boer, Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf and Sannen goats. Our goats provide us fresh goat’s milk (that you can purchase in our Farm Store!) They also help keep our property manicured and free of unwanted plants like poison ivy and briars. They are also just loads of fun and entertainment! There’s never a dull moment as a goat farmer!

Produce / plants

We have 2 garden plots that each have 1200 ft of linear growing space. That’s 2400 feet of space we have to grow produce for our community each year! Our farm is in Zone 7B, so to combat the winter frost that comes our way each year we have a green house and a hoop house too. Our green house is double insulated with an inflatable chamber to even further its insulation. It also has a air circulating fan that keeps our plants happy and healthy! In case of a really cold winter we also have a propane heater to make sure our plants don’t get too cold.

What We Grow

Each year that we grow food for us and our surrounding community we learn what grows best, what people want most, and what plants just don’t work in our climate/environment. Therefor we have an ever-changing garden and availability of crops. Some of the staples we have every year are okra, yellow squash, zucchini, several tomato varieties and salad mixes.

If you live in our community and there’s a type of produce you want but can’t find, let us know by sending us a message here. We’ll do our best to try and get some plants planted for you and get your food growing!

Farm Products

We have a large variety of farm products that we produce. Of course, we have our produce in our gardens, but we also have raw unfiltered honey, free range fresh eggs, and more! Each part of our farm works together providing our family, animals, plants and community with the nutrients they need.

Our free range farm fresh eggs are available first-come first-served and you can pick them up in our farm store! We harvest eggs every day so if we ever run out, you can come back the next day!

We have 4 bee hives on our farm that give us a good amount of honey each year. But our honey doesn’t last long! Get your 100% Raw unfiltered honey straight from Merry Meadows Farm at our Farm Store or at one of our events throughout the year.

Our dairy goats give our family and community fresh milk every day! Our goat’s milk is delicious and good for you too. Come try some of our raw goat’s milk at our farm store and say hi to our dairy goats!
